I’d like to apologize for my lack of reviews lately. I’m sort of failing at this whole superwoman thing.

Here’s what’s to come once I get my act together:
* a few music reviews including Adele, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown and possibly Britney Spears.
* Finale reviews of The Game and Grey’s Anatomy and whatever other show I find time to watch. Granted some of these will be late but who cares right?

Summer is also around the corner so expect more reviews in a timely manner and I’ll be adding new shows to the mix (Trueblood anyone?) and movies!

I’m sorry but it’s been really hard to contain my excitement since last night. Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair (Leighton Meester) finally went for it and honestly nothing could make me happier. Forget Serena (Blake Lively), forget Chuck (Ed Westwick) . Dan and Blair, Dair (yes, that is the new nickname and you need to get with it) to be exact are IT. Last night’s episode was epic for these two and I’d like to take a minute and just thank the writers. Thank you. Seriously. I mean, can anyone else feel the chemistry? It was basically bursting at the seams and hell, those two are intense on-screen. (Hmm, maybe off-screen too? I need to look into that.)

I used to think Blair was meant to be with Chuck but the last few episodes have proven me wrong. First of all, not many people can handle Blair. I mean she is a whole lot of …..everything and either you get with it or get out of the way. And let’s not forget that if you refuse, she’ll remove you herself. Yes, Chuck complemented her at some point in time but in a much different way that Dan can. Blair can be petty as hell, manipulative, a pushover and quick with her words but I’ve always admired Dan’s ability to keep up and the fact that he always resisted her. He has always been the one she was never able to fully control; he saw right through her. (Damn, now that I think about it, maybe I should have seen their budding romance coming.) And that is why I think, for now anyway, that Dan is a better fit for Blair. They share the same interests and intellectually, they are on the same level. Looking back, most of what Chuck and Blair had in common, besides their chemistry in bed, was a love for the “takedown”. There’s gotta be more to a relationship than that…right? And as far as Serena is concerned… let me just cut to the chase and say that she has pissed me off on so many levels… all season. She has become irrelevant to me, and her character has not evolved at all. She’s either always trying to “find” herself but instead always ends up chasing after some guy and it’s always the wrong guy! Remember that professor dude, and now Ben? Why can’t she learn that she doesn’t have to fall for every guy that gives her the time of day. It just screams little-girl-who-didn’t-grow-up-without-a-father-and-is-now-looking-for-validation-from-every-man-in-her-life and that is getting old. And she is giving up on Dan for Ben (David Call)? I have nothing against Ben at this point, and in fact I’ve felt sorry for him for a while but let’s face it, he is not here to stay. He was an old school girl crush or love or whatever they call it these days but that’s it. So what happens when he’s gone? She’ll run back to Dan and pull him back into “Serena-world” and if he refuses, she’ll move on to Nate (Chase Crawford) and so forth. Basically, I realize now that she is not meant for Dan; at least not right now. I can’t really think of anything they had in common nor can I remember a time when they were genuinely happy just being together as opposed to trying to stop the latest scandal from happening. In all seriousness, Serena’s character needs some serious reevaluation.

So now, we have all seen the kiss and if you are not a believer by now then….I don’t know but I don’t understand you. I can’t wait to see what happens and it literally hurts that I have to wait until April 18. I just love these two already and how cute it was to watch them realize that maybe there was something there…something more than friendship and being really good at pushing each other’s buttons. I’m especially appreciative that their whole thing wasn’t rushed and we were able to witness it grow. I know Chuck will find out and Serena and everyone else who never thought Brooklyn and the Upper East side were meant to be together but I’m hoping Dair will put up a fight. Together. Of course, just as life is unpredicable, so is Gossip Girl. There’s a chance that it won’t last and next season, I’ll be excited about a new love connection but when it comes to two characters that I’d love to see get together, it’s Dair. And let’s face it, if this were real life, wouldn’t these two have a better chance than say, Chuck+ Blair and Dan+Serena? I’ll wait for your answer. For those of you who remember Dawson’s Creek, remember Pacey and Joey? We’ve seen this before!

Overall, I’d like to give the episode a major A+. I’ll try and wait until April 18 but they better bring it. And yes, I realize that other things happened in the episode that may have been worth noting but seriously, who cares?

I am one of the lucky fans of The Game who were able to see a fourth season. Thank you BET and a special thank you to the other fans who actually petitioned to have the show air again. This season has definitely taken me for a roller coaster. I still don’t agree with the network’s decision to phase Kelly out as a character, but that’s a topic for another day. Right now, I’m worried about Melanie (Tia Mowry). What is she doing? It pisses me off to see her turn into the stereotypical celebrity or “baller’s” wife whose life now revolves around Derwin (Pooch Hall). So far she has done nothing else but head the Sunbeam’s meetings, drink wine and try to spice up a sex life with a husband who has yet to complain. Someone should probably tell this girl that the famous saying still applies, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Melanie has been my favorite character on the show since the very beginning. I have laughed with her, cried with her… hell I’ve even been through it with her and Derwin. But the new Melanie is letting me down. I used to admire her will to stay in school and finish despite having an NFL boyfriend. But after all that she has been through and worked hard for, she still ends up being somebody’s trophy? Not ok with me, and not ok with many self-respecting women. I hope her storyline changes soon because I can’t take it anymore.

Tonight was interesting though. I never expected to see Melanie fishing for a girl for a possible threesome. And did we see that last kiss there? Or the way the girl seemed to be into Melanie? And the way Melanie didn’t mind? Something tells me there will be more to this storyline. Let me go ahead and throw in a disclaimer and say that I could very wrong here. After all, the show’s writer haven been known to introduce and kill characters randomly. She may not be going to work anytime soon but at least she may be getting interesting in another way. I’ll take that for now.

Let’s talk about Malik (Hosea Sanchez) for a bit. His interview on the Monique Show definitely made me laugh and I am glad to see him happy. But happiness in this case will only be short lived because he has to deal with his boss’ crazy wife, Parker (Megan Good); the same woman he was involved in an affair with. I can’t say that I’m mad at him for giving in to her though, what else was he supposed to do then? Though, If I were Malik, I’d use my head on this one. Go home to your lovely girlfriend, Jenna (Tika Sumpter) and TELL HER THE TRUTH. Tell her you were involved with your boss’s wife before rebab and now she is threatening to lie to everyone and tell them he raped her if he doesn’t continue to….entertain her. First of all, I still don’t understand how low a person’s self worth has to be to make them stoop so low. However, I’d still advise Malik to come clean to Jenna and ask for her help. If he has really changed and if Jenna is supposed to be the one who genuinely cares for him and is here to stay, she’s understand it was all before her and she’s help. Of course she will probably raise hell before then but she’ll come around. But this is a show after all and where is the drama in that right? Anyway, it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds but I’m pretty sure it’s not going to end well for Malik and Jenna.

Overall, the episode was better than…the last. I’m hoping to see some real development next week though and with Melanie’s parents visiting, I’m sure we’re in for a treat.
